Question 5: How are the brakes controlled?
• The front brake lever controls braking to the front wheel. Your right-hand fingers do the work. The front brake is the most effective brake on a motorcycle. The front brake lever is squeezed in to control braking. Squeezed — NEVER grabbed.
• The rear brake is pressed to apply braking to the rear wheel by the sole of your right foot.
• Learn to use both brakes together, it helps with braking control and creates a good habit pattern so if both brakes are necessary for an emergency stop, applying both brakes is second-nature
