Technique 1:  What are the steps to start and stop the engine?

• Prepare the engine for starting using the KEN-C acronym:
K = Key (turn to On position)
E = Engine cutoff switched to ON/RUN
N = Neutral (green light On)
C = Clutch in / Choke (On if needed)

You already know where all the controls are located, now you just need to activate them in the right order and you will be ready to start the motorcycle’s engine.Switch refresher — steps are in order and color coordinated

• Shut the engine down using just two steps: EK
E = Engine cutoff switched to OFF
K = Key OFF

Stopping the engine with the engine cutoff switch allows you to keep both hands on the handgrips — increasing your control of bike.  Ignitions (keys) can be located in a number of places. Using the engine cutoff ensures the engine isn’t running while you look for where the key is located.
